I went to the park like I do every few days. And I got a picture of what I believe is a red-tailed hawk. The camera sucks, so you can barely see it, but it’s there. I have seen them before and I did go with the intention of getting a picture. I’ve seen them in air and on trees before but this is the first time I’ve seen one in the ground, eating! This looks a bit diffrent than the standard red-tailed hawk, either it’s a different raptor or most likely just a young one.

I finally opened a flickr account with an old yahoo ID I had. Click on the photo to go to my account where you can zoom in or see other photos. Cheers.

Update: After doing some research I’ve come to pretty good conclustion that this is a Cooper’s Hawk. You can’t see much on this pic above but on another pic (it’s in the flickr page) you can see it’s tail has black and brown bands with white at the end, exactly like a pic I seen on Google images. Also the body type is similar. Another update, it could be a Sharp-shinned Hawk but I still think it’s a Cooper’s.
